After about 10 days of the Assembly elections in Pakistan occupied Jammu and Kashmir , Pakistan Prime Minister Imran Khan nominated Abdul Qayyum Niazi as Prime Minister of the occupied territory .
Qayyum Niazi ‘s name was announced this morning by Pakistan’s federal minister for Information and Broadcasting Fawad Chaudhary on Wednesday saying that “ Prime Minister Imran Khan had nominated Abdul Qayyum Niazi as the next premier of Azad Jammu and Kashmir.” Pakistan calls the PoJK as “ Azad Kashmir”, though the people there have rebelled against this definition of their territory. They call it Pakistan occupied Jammu Kashmir, and there were massive demonstration against Pakistan for interfering in the local Assembly polls .
The demonstrators had also raised slogans” Kashmir banega Hindustan.”
In a tweet, the minister said that PM Imran had made the decision after extensive consultations and reviewing all the proposals. “He is a dynamic and genuine political activist and his heart beats for the people,” he said.
Niazi was a member of the PoJK Legislative Assembly from border area Abbaspur Poonch, which was illegally annexed by Pakistan through tribal raids in 1947.
Qayyum was earlier with Muslim Conference. He had joined PTI as Pakistan’s ruling party had used the coercion, money power and the blackmailing tactics to make the leaders of PoJK to join the party.
