Today on the eve of birthday of Mahatma Gandhi, Advisor to Hon’ble LG Mr. Baseer Ahmad Khan inaugurated B2V3 programme at Nowgam Shangus which was attended by worthy DDC Anantnag, Mr. K.K. Sidha, SSP Anantnag, Mr. Sandeep Choudhary,BDC Chairman Shangus,BDO Shangus, Distt. Floriculture Officer Anantnag, , PRIs, representatives of Auqaf committees and various public delegations who apprised the Advisor about their demands, problems and sought their redressal. The demands include immediate repair and renovation of Achabal Chitergul road on priority which is in a dilapidated condition, scarcity of drinking water, scarcity of water for irrigation of karewa lands, women college, polytechnic college, JKBOSE sub office, maternity hospital with all facilities,SBI Bank branch, enhancement of rent of the land under Army Depot. Khundroo, development of sports stadium at Nowgam and release of pending MGNREGA payment of 2016-17.
The advisor on the occasion said that the aim of conducting B2V3 programme is to assess the needs of the public and bring Governance at the doorsteps of the general public. He stressed the public to raise their community level issues and demands and put them before Visiting Officers. He further stressed upon PRIs that they are empowered to conduct Gram Sabhas during B2V3 and formulate plans that will bring visible changes with respect to service delivery,amelioration of poverty, creation of tangible assets and will bring people more closer to government.
Regarding the genuine demands like drinking water, the advisor assured for restoration and preservation of old springs, besides assured to tap the potential of springs for drinking water, construction and development of sports stadium on priority to engage youth in sports activities. He also assured the public and PRI officials that the administrative level demands regarding opening JKBOSE sub office, maternity & child care hospital, women & polytechnic colleges will be forwarded to concerned authorities for their feasibility check and shall be taken up accordingly.
Mr Khan appealed the general public for their active participation in grassroot level all inclusive B2V3 programme.
Hon’ble advisor inaugurated an old spring renovated by BDO Shangus at Nowgam, which was in a dilapidated condition for more than three decades and threw it open for the public use to address the drinking water scarcity for which the local community thanked the administration.
The Advisor also distributed sports kits, domicile, RBA and Pahari Speaking Certificates, besides mementos & merit certificates to meritorious students.
The general public present at the occasion hailed the efforts of District Administration Anantnag for on spot redressal of their grievances raised during Jan Abhiyan Public Outreach programme held at Nowgam Shangus under the Chairmanship of DDC, Anantnag. DDC, Anantnag also announced the establishment of Aadhar enrolment facility demanded by locals at Tehsil Office Shangus for general public.
