Jammu: In a notable academic achievement, Dr. Muskan Rao, Junior Resident, Department of Otorhinolaryngology (ENT), All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) Jammu, secured Second Prize in the Postgraduate Poster Presentation category at the 45th North West Zone AOICON, held in Rohtak, Haryana.
Dr. Muskan Rao received the award for her poster titled “Tumors of the Parapharyngeal Space,” which focused on an important area of head and neck surgery. The presentation highlighted her academic engagement with the subject and participation in scientific activities alongside her postgraduate clinical training.
Prof. (Dr.) Sanjeev Sinha, Executive Director and CEO, AIIMS Jammu, congratulated Dr. Muskan Rao on this commendable achievement and encouraged residents to actively participate in conferences, workshops and research activities. He emphasized that such academic platforms provide valuable opportunities to enhance clinical knowledge, develop research skills and remain updated with advancements in medical science.
The achievement was supported by the guidance and mentorship of Dr. Darwin Kaushal, Additional Professor and Officiating Head, Department of Otorhinolaryngology, Head and Neck Surgery; Dr. Amardeep Singh, Additional Professor and Dr. Sajid Rashid, Assistant Professor. Their academic guidance and mentorship supported the preparation and presentation of the work at the conference.
The Department of Otorhinolaryngology, Head and Neck Surgery, AIIMS Jammu, encourages postgraduate residents to participate in scientific conferences, academic presentations and research activities.
