Jammu, Sept. 16: To commemorate World Patient Safety Day, Department of Hospital Administration, ASCOMS & H, organized Quality and Safety Week in which various activities were organized on the theme of “Patient Safety”. The event was organized under the supervision of Dr. Rabinder Rattanpal, Medical Superintendent, ASCOMS & Hospital and Dr. Deepika Mahajan, Dy. Medical Superintendent & Organizing Secretary. Posters, Rangoli & Slogan competition were conducted during the Week.
Dr. Yashpal Sharma, Director (Coordination), New Govt. Medical Colleges, Nursing and Paramedical Colleges of Jammu & Kashmir & President, Academy of Hospital Administration India was the Chief Guest. The others present on this occasion were Mr. Manik Batra, Trustee, ASCOMS & Guest of Honour, Dr. K.S. Mehta, Director Principal, ASCOMS & Hospital, Dr. Ravinder K Gupta, Prof & HOD, Paediatrics, ASCOMS, Dr. Bella Mahajan, Prof & HOD, Microbiology, Dr. Rajesh Kumar, Prof & HOD, ENT, Dr. Rajesh K Gupta, Prof & HOD, Orthopaedics, Brig (Dr.) R.K. Khajuria, Prof, PSM & Dr. Meraj Din Chauhan, DGM (Audit & Hosp Adm.) ASCOMS. This Event was also attended by faculty, staff, Postgraduate students, paramedics and both MBBS and nursing students.
Dr. Rabinder Rattanpal in his welcome address highlighted the importance of Patient Safety followed by a presentation about the activities conducted throughout Quality and Safety Week by Dr. Deepika Mahajan. Dr. Yashpal Sharma, the Chief Guest highlighted the various key points in his Guest Lecture on Patient Safety by giving a detailed Presentation. He appreciated the efforts of Department of Hospital Administration for organizing this event.
Dr. K.S.Mehta, Director Principal, congratulated the Organizing Committee for successfully conducting the Quality & Safety Week on the occasion of World Patient Safety Day 2023.
A cleanliness drive was also conducted at the start of the week which culminated on 15th of September 2023 and Department of Paediatrics secured first position. A skit on Patient Safety was performed by the students of Nursing College under the guidance of Prof (Dr.) Indra Moza, Principal, ASCCONE. The participants and the winners were felicitated by the dignitaries followed by a vote of thanks by Dr. Meraj Din Chauhan in which he thanked the ASCOMS Management for their unwavering support and invaluable contribution to make the Event successful.
