Srinagar , November 03: A deeply disturbed Chief Minister OmarAbdullah over spate of attacks in J&K and in particular grenade attack at Sunday market in Srinagar, asked the security apparatus must act to prevent attacks on innocents.
In a post on X, Omar said that there is no justification for for attacks on innocent civilians.
It may be recalled that CM can only ask security apparatus to act , he cannot direct them as he is not having ministry of Home with him . In the current system of Governance, the LG has all the control over security system in J&K. The J&K is a union territory at the moment. LG has already asked and directed security forces to eliminate terrorists and terrorism.
The last few days have been dominated by headlines of attacks & encounters in parts of the valley. Today’s news of a grenade attack on innocent shoppers at the ‘Sunday market’ in Srinagar is deeply disturbing. There can be no justification for targeting innocent civilians. The…
