Jammu, November 19:

All the four terrorists killed in Ban Toll Plaza encounter, near Jammu  on Jammu- Srinagar highway  with security forces were Pakistanis and carrying more arms than their number  and “ their plan was to disrupt the ongoing District Development Council polls in J&K,”  Director General of Police Dilbag Singh said after the encounter was over.

Speaking exclusively to  JK NEWS TODAY , Dilbag Singh, who is monitoring the security arrangements for the DDC polls all across J&K on a minute to minute basis , said that all these four terrorists  belonging to Jaish-e-Mohammad  had intruded into Samba  from across the international border last night. “ They had hired the truck from Samba and were on their way to Kashmir when their truck was stopped at toll plaza and they opened fire . All the four were killed in retaliation and their bodies have been recovered.”

DGP said that  four were killed, but the police have recovered five weapons , confirming our clues that there were “ more arms than their number.” It is further confirmed the way truck caught fore as there might have been explosives inside it.

Asked about the motive behind the whole thing , the DGP who has been monitoring the  militancy and Pakistan’s role in it for the past  more than three decades, disclosed that “ It was a direct attempt to disrupt the ongoing  DDC polls.”

Pakistan is frustrated by the way polls are being held , strengthening the grassroots democracy in Jammu and Kashmir, and is making all out attempts to disrupt these.

“ But, as the police have shown today by neutralizing all the four terrorists  that we are determined to foil all such designs from across the border”, the  DGP said.

He said that the encounter is over, but searches are on.
