Director General of Police (DGP) Dr Shesh Pal Vaid today said that today state is moving towards peace and only because of these soldiers.

Talking to media persons after visiting bereaved family of JKP Constable Deepak Thusoo at Nagrota, who attained martyrdom in an encounter in Kupwara two days back, state police chief, Dr Vaid said that such operations are very important to bring back normalcy in Kashmir and our soldiers are doing tremendous job against the militancy activities in Kashmir.

“These operations are very important, so that Kashmir will soon see a sigh of relief and coming summers will remain calm,” said the DGP, when asked about importance of anti-insurgency operations in the Valley.

“As already lot of blood spills in Kashmir in last two years, so we are hopeful that due to our successful operations against militancy, the summers will remain peaceful here,” added Vaid.

On the preparations of security forces for the coming annual Amarnath Yatra, the police chief said, “All intelligence agencies and security forces have talked with Shri Amarnath Shrine Board (SASB) and the necessary guidelines, whwtever will be issue by the Shrine Board will be follow by all the security agencies to provide foolproof security cover to the yatra and yatries.”

It is worth mentioning that in year 2017, a bus of Amarnath pilgrims was came under attack of militants at Anantnag and many yatries lost their lives in the attack.
