New Delhi , February 06 PDP president Mehbooba Mufti faced quite a hostile press during her press conference at press club of India , where she had spotlighted the use of bulldozers in demolition of structures under the anti-encroachment drive.
One of the reporters , asked Mehbooba on her take on Pakistan occupied Kashmir and the condition thereof. Which made her to retort , “ I have alliance with India not Pakistan , I joined hands with India , not Pakistan.” She also told the reporter what is the relevance and rationale of his question.
“ Right now , my people are on roads , they are afraid whether they would have shelter over their head by tonight or not. I am talking of that brutality on us.”
To another question by a reporter regarding the elections in J&K and her party’s strategy, Mehbooba counter questioned, “ Do you think this ( elections ) is a priority for me at the moment when my people are being rendered homeless . Elections have been held in Kashmir for 70 years, did these exercises make Kashmir issue disappear . Our simple stance is resolve Kashmir, restore Article 370.”
Mehbooba Mufti answered all the questions with composure . She also asked the government why doesn’t it retrieve 20,000 sq. kms of land that China has occupied , where the shepherds living in Ladakh have lost the access. They don’t have any grazing land.”
