Doda, May 27: Doda Police has worked out two theft cases and recovered stolen property worth lacs at Bhaderwah and Gandoh.
Giving details, Doda Police said that a complaint was lodged in PS Bhaderwah by one Aqib Iqbal son of Javed Iqbal resident of Dandi Bhaderwah regarding theft of mobile phones by some unknown persons after break opening the locks of his shop on the intervening night of May 21-22. On the receipt of the complaint Case FIR No. 61/2023 under relevant section of law was registered at Police Station Bhaderwah.
Soon after the registration of the case, Police swung into action and a team of Police Bhaderwah led by PSI Ankush Sharma after getting clues /technical assistance apprehended two thieves and during investigation they confessed their involvement in the theft of mobile phones and on their disclosure (16) Mobile Phones alongwith accessories worth Rs, 2,17,234/- were recovered from their possession. Involvement of these thieves in other theft cases is also being investigated.
Another FIR No. 46/2023 was registered at PS Gandoh on the complaint of BDO Chilli Pingal regarding theft of motor of a shredder machine from Bus Stand Chilli Pingal which was allotted to Block Chilli Pingal and was to be transported for its installation. During course of investigation of the case, a team was constituted headed by SHO PS Gandoh Inspector Vikram Singh. After strenuous efforts the team rounded up two suspects namely (1) Binyamein son of Mir Ali resident of Chilli Balla Gandoh and (2) Shabir Ahmed son of Ali Hussain resident of Chilli Balla Gandoh and during questioning they admitted their involvement in the incident of theft. On their disclosure, the stolen motor worth Rs, 02.00 lacs was recovered from their possession.
Investigation of both the cases is in progress.
