Finland, May 12:
Finnish President Sauli Niinistö and Prime Minister Sanna Marin announced on Thursday their intention to submit an application to join the NATO military alliance “without delay”. Joining NATO would be a reversal of Finland’s decades-long policy of neutrality. Sweden is expected to decide if it is also applying for membership in the coming days.
