The Police have prepared a list of first-time time throwers and those may be released by next week.
The state police following instructions of Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti has prepared this list . She had told a high level security meet that she would like to grant amnesty to all those youth who had entered the ranks of the stone throwing for the first time .
Police sources said that Mehbooba wants to show the soft face of her administration and blunt the criticism that her government was on an arrest spree of the young to arrest the unrest.
Sources said that the Chief Minister wanted to give one chance to the children because of their tender age and the pressure that they had faced in their neighborhood following the widespread unrest in the aftermath of the killing of Hizb-ul-Mujahadeen Commander Burhan Wani, with whom they identified through social media.
Keeping the stone throwers in jails in the company of criminals could cause damaging impressions on their minds.
