New Delhi, November 12  ( JKNT)

Jammu University  Vice Chancellor  R D Sharma  is in a soup , despite his clarification on the  comments  on  Burhan Wani that the Hizb-ul-Mujahadeen  commander  should not have been killed by security forces in an encounter.

This clarification has not been found sufficient  by his superiors. His  comments that Burhan’s life should have been spared has been quoted extensively by Pakistani media  that has twisted as  vindication of their stand that Burhan was not killed in a genuine encounter.  Pakistan Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif had called Burhan , a “ martyr” and “ young leader of Kashmir who was murdered by the Indian security forces.”

Sharma’s  suggestion that Burhan should have  been arrested, instead of killing him has  added to the propaganda  by Pakistan and militant outfits. Further it has embarrassed the security forces.

One policeman was  injured grievously  in firing by militants before the encounter started in Kokernag in south Kashmir on July 8 . This fact is not being told  to public.

The Human Resources Ministry , according to sources, has taken a very serious note of it. It is contemplating an action . It  is likely to take up the matter with his  superiors  in Jammu and Kashmir.

Sources said that  if   action  can be taken against the  Jawaharlal Nehru ( JNU) university can be taken for  sympathizing  with secessionists , why a vice chancellor should be exempted from any action  for his pro-terrorist remarks .

In next few days, the Human Resources Ministry would come out with a plan as to what kind of action should be taken against Jammu University  Vice Chancellor, the sources said.
