Hundreds of people blocked main road in Vessu near Qazigund protesting over killing “in cross fire” of a Fisheries department guard Assadullah Kumar of Mandhole village, whose body was delivered “almost naked” to his family.
The family and protesters are questioning as to why the body “was delivered naked. Besides two bullet marks the body had torture marks.”
The villagers and people of surrounding area got together to protest by keeping the body on the road and demanding answers ,”Why the body was naked and had torture marks.”
The local Congress MLA of Devsar, Mohammad Amin Bhat, tried in vain to cool down the situation . The protestors are suspecting that security forces killed Assadullah during search and cordon of Chancer village where he was on duty.
According to official report Assadullah got caught in cross fire between militants and security forces in an encounter and got fatal bullet shot in Chancer village of Kulgam district.
