In order to strengthen the bond between the local populace and Indian Army, regular interaction with locals and village heads is organised by the Army. Continuing the trend, an interaction was organised with retired government employees and newly elected Sarpanches and Panches at Samote on 21 Dec 18.

The event was attended by 67 persons to include 07 Sarpanches, 38 Panches and 22 retired government employees from Hubi, Kotranka, Upper Kandi, Lower Kandi, Jaglanoo, Khadyoon, Khah I and II, Kanthol and Swari villages of Rajouri district. The meeting was aimed to congratulate newly elected Sarpanches and Panches for their success in recently conducted Panchayat elections and points pertaining to role of government employees post retirement in the development of the region. Various issues related to development in the area, problems faced by the local populace and the work done by the Army to sustain peace and improve the quality of living of the local populace was discussed.

All present applauded the support provided by the Army in all spheres. These meetings not only enhance the bond between the Army and AWAM but also boost the morale of the locals which in turn assists in maintaining peace and harmony in the region.
