Indian Army organised two day long winter sports carnival in District Ramban from 31 Jan 21 to 01 Feb 21.
The Defence Spokesman told that the event witnessed enthusiastic participation by children from all 12 villages of Mohubal region. A 250 meter stretch for sledging was carefully selected. Participants were provided with safety gears to include helmet, elbow and knee pads by the Army.
Finals were witnessed by local villagers in large number. Coveted title, in a nail biting finish, was bagged by Junaid Ahmed Bhat aged 13 yrs of Mohu village. The Winter Carnival culminated with prize distribution and refreshments.
“Such events will channelise the youth of region towards constructive activities. Huge success of the event will also promote the tourism potential of Ramban district in future,” remarked the Defence Spokesman
