Bhatinda, Punjab , November 25 ( JKNT)  Prime Minister Narendra Modi has firmly asserted  that India has all  the right on waters flowing to Pakistan under  the 1960 World Bank brokered  Indus Water Treaty.

While speaking at the  foundation  stone laying ceremony of new All India Institute of Medical Sciences ( AIIMS) here today, Prime Minister said that  the “ Indus Water Treaty envisaged  first right on water flowing to Pakistan” and he added  that the waters would  be used to  meet needs of farmers.

Modi also reached out to the people of Pakistan and asked them to wage war against poverty, corruption and black money.

“This Indus water treaty, the water is India’s right which flows into Pakistan. Flowing through Pakistan, the water goes into the sea.

“That water belongs to the Indian farmers. We will do whatever we can to give enough water to our farmers,” he said.
