Tensions have been erupted on Indo-Pak IB and LoC since DGMO declared that army conducted surgical strikes against terrorist launching pads in PoK.
Officials of BSF and army confirmed that high-alert has been sounded and extra vigil has been maintained at along IB and LoC with Pakistan.
BSF IG, Jammu, DK Upadhyay said that BSF is on high-alert under his area of jurisdiction and men and machinery is ready to reply any provocation from the other side.
“There is no extra movement from Pakistan side since this morning, but we are on alert,” said BSF IG.
As far as extra deployment is concerned two more battalions have been deployed in Jammu since last few days to increase the surveillance of the fence and IB.
Army is also on alert at LoC in twin mountainous districts of Rajouri and Poonch and extra vigil has been maintained. On the directions of Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) state police also asked to remain on alert.
