Jammu, March 06:

INTACH JAMMU CHAPTER  in collaboration with Directorate of Geology & Mining, J&K Govt.  Jammu organized interactive meet on traditional “CLAY CRAFT OF JAMMU “at Udhyog Bhawan in order to bring  innovations at par with international standards in Jammu for this dying craft .The galaxy of senior functionaries / retired officers of the central/  J&K govt. participated in the   event.

Sh. Vikas Sharma (KAS) Director geology & mining was the chief guest on the occasion   and assured all the support from the department to revive the dying craft. While speaking on the occasion Ms. Trishla Kumari Jt. Dir. Industries and commerce Department focussed that department will provide all the help under various govt. schemes whereas  Ms. Namrita Bhan AD handicraft Jammu explained various schemes of the department and assured that clay craft will be enlisted in the crafts of Jammu. Sh. Lalit Gupta, Sh. Bishamber Mehta former senior faculty members of institute of music and fine art explained historical as well as technical factors of clay craft.

Mr. Salim Beg convener Intach J&K, S.M. Sahni convener INTACH Jammu chapter , Dr.C.M Seth co-convener Intach J&K, Kuldeep Wahi co – convener , Dr. Satwant Singh Rissam, Addl. Co-convener Jammu   chapter gave overall initiatives taken up by Intach and innovations required at the government- host communities level . They said traditional clay crafts of Jammu are vanishing day by day and needs to be conserved and revived with innovations as per the requirement of the citizens of J&K and city of temples in particular.
