Leh, August 05

The Ladakh Autonomous Hill Council has decided to unfurl national tricolour at a function at NDS stadium in Leh to mark the 75th Indepence Day, separately from the UT administration’s function.

This decision, according to sources , is to lodge a sort of protest against the UT administration for its role in undermine the two hill councils in Leh and Kargil. This is also to send a message to the Union Government that the people of Ladakh were unhappy with the administration.

The Chairman and Chief Executive Councillor Tashi Gaylson has convened a meeting of all the executive councillors on August 8, where this decision would be ratified, sources said.
