A young girl, who is not mentally fit was allegedly raped in Akhnoor area of Jammu and acting swiftly police have arrested the accused involved in this crime.
Additional SP (Rural), Jammu, Shiv Dev Singh Jamwal informed that on March 19, 2018, one person lodged a written report at police station Akhnoor that on March 18 (Sunday) at 04:30pm , his daughter who is mentally disturbed had gone outside alongwith her minor brother. In the meantime Shallu son of Kala Ram of Badgal Tehsil Akhnoor came there and after wrongfully restraining them, committed rape with her forcibly.
On this, case a FIR No. 55/2018 U/S 376/341/323 RPC was registered at Police Station Akhnoor and investigation of the case was entrusted to SI Sandeep Singh of P/S Akhnoor.
Keeping in view the gravity of the case, Akhnoor Police swung into action and constituted some teams. They conducted raids at suspected places for apprehension of the accused. With the Strenuous efforts and timely action by the Police, the above said accused was arrested within 24 hours of the commission of the offence.
The arrest was made by SI Sandeep Singh under the guidance of Inspr. Shivdev Singh, SHO P/S Akhnoor and close supervision of Munish Kumar, SDPO Akhnoor.
