A militant was killed in an encounter with security forces in Kakpora, militancy hot bed area of Pulwama district this evening, according to police sources .
Security forces had launched the operation on a tip off about the presence of militants in Kakpora area .
The village is known for heavy presence and movement of militants . The encounter lasted for more than half an hour.
The police are yet to identify the body. So far no one has come forward to claim the body.
The killing of the militant is part of the intensified offensive against militants in Kashmir .
