Militants Monday evening attacked the house of a senior minister Abdul Rehman Veeri in Veeri, Bijbehra south of Srinagar sending a wave of fear among the PDP legislators and ministers.
Heavily armed militants fired at the house of Veeri in his native village. Their fire was retaliated by the police guards guarding the house. There was no loss of life or injury in the gunfight, which lasted for about 20 minutes
The minister was not in his house. He was in Srinagar, the police said
This was a high impact attack.
It was second major attack on the house of PDP ministers in the Valley. Earlier, militants had attacked Education Minister Naeem Akhtar’s house last month.
