The University of Jammu Kick-Boxing (Men) Team brought laurels to the University of Jammu by showing its high performance and grabbed 9 medals(2 Gold, 3 Silver and 4Bronze Medals) in the All India Inter-University Kick-Boxing (Men) Championship 2021-22 and selection of players for Coaching Camp for World University Games organized by Dr. Ram Manohar Lohiya University, Ayodhya (U.P) w.e.f. 20th April to 23rd April 2022.
Prof. Umesh Rai, Vice-Chancellor University of Jammu interacted with and congratulated the Kick-Boxing (Men) Team members for winning 1 Gold, 1 Silver and 1 Bronze Medal for the University of Jammu in the presence of Prof. Arvind Jasrotia, Registrar University of Jammu. While addressing, he lauded the efforts of the Directorate of Sports and Physical Education for this achievement and for its constant dedication to the upliftment of Sports in the University. He further added that the Directorate of Sports and Physical Education is proving as one of the best departments of the University who got its recognition in the National and AIU Charter. Prof. Jasrotia also congratulated the Kick-Boxing (Men) Team members and the entire staff of the Directorate for this wonderful achievement. Earlier, Dr. Daud Iqbal Baba, Director, Sports and Physical Education introduced the team members to the Vice-Chancellor and briefed him about the achievements of the players of the Kick-Boxing (Men) team of the University of Jammu. 2 Players of the University of Jammu were selected for Coaching Camp for World University Games to be held at Serbia in the month of August-September this year, he added. The Jammu University Kick-Boxing (Men) Team comprises of Harsh Dev Singh (Gold Medal), Mohd. Arif (Gold Medal), Dheeraj Partap (Silver Medal),Sahil Ali (Silver Medal),Aman Dubey (Silver Medal), Deepak Kumar (Bronze Medal),Aman Sharma (Bronze Medal), Zafar Iqbal (Bronze Medal), Snehal Sudan (Bronze Medal),Sahil Chib, Vikas Sharma, Aman Bhau, Bakshi Chanakya, Arjun Singh Kotwal, Deepak SharmaNitin Sharma and Naresh Kumar, Harsh Dev Singh (Gold Medal) and Mohd. Arif (Gold Medal) were selected for coaching camp for World University Games. Danish Padha and Mr. Satyam Khajuria have accompanied the team as Coach and Manager respectively.
Others present on the occasion were Abhishek Jain (General Secretary, J&K Kick Boxing Association), Jai Bharat and Harinderpal Singh.
