The Central Government Thursday evening decided that “ no over the counter exchange of old Rs. 500 and Rs. 1000 notes after midnight of 24.11.201,”
This is the reversal of the announcement of Prime Minister Narendra Modi that the old high value notes would be exchanged till December 30, 2016.
This has led to speculations that the Centre may change course on other issues concerning demonetization which came into effect from November 8 midnight.
