Kishtwar, : A large number of PHE Employees today held a strong protest against non release of monthly wages of Daily Wagers and HR Workers pending since last more than eight months and blocked the main road disrupting the normal life. DemonstrationLed by District Working President Vikar Dev, the protestors held a protest against government at PHE Sub Division Kishtwar. Amid sloganeering against the state government, PHE Workers Union leaders slammed the government for its indifferent attitude towards the poor daily wagers of PHE Department Kishtwar who are working day and night yet are deprived of their rightful wages. They alleged that PHE daily wagers received their wages once in a year either on Eid or Diwali only. They slammed PHE department and finance department for releasing only 15 days pay in favor of the agitating employees and described it a cruel joke to them.Later agitating employees called on Executive Engineer PHE Division Kishtwar and apprised him with their issues. Executive Engineer PHE Division Kishtwar giving a patient ear to him said that the matter is within the ambit of government and assured the agitating employees that in case government release the salary amount for daily wagers and HR Workers, the same shall be transferred into their accounts immediately.
Executive Engineer along with AEE PHE Sub Division Kishtwar have expressed their solidarity with the cause of agitating protestors. Some years before the agitating PHE employees block the road outside PHE Sub Division Kishtwar and later outside DC Office Kishtwar and then got court arrested at Police Station Kishtwar. However they detained PHE workers were later released after completion of legal formalities
