Former Chief Minister Omar Abdullah has mocked at his successor Mehbooba Mufti for seeking the Kashmir- specific confidence building measures from Prime Minister Narendra Modi whom she met in New Delhi on Monday.
In what appeared to be Omar’s tongue in cheek remark on the Twitter, he wrote , “ True to form #MehboobaMufti will look to Centre for everything because she has surrendered all the authority of her office.”
Mehbooba Mufti who had met Modi in New Delhi had urged him to extend his outreach to the people of Kashmir with Kashmir specific CBM’s, which was to open dialogue with all stake holders, as also with Pakistan and provide economic benefits to the suffering people of Kashmir.
As she has knocked the doors of Railways Minister Suresh Prabhu and Finance Minister Arun Jaitley before meeting Prime Minister , Omar saw in it her surrender of authority of office of Chief Minister . He has been calling her working at the behest of Delhi all the time, particularly during the current unrest.
He also tweeted : “ How about you start releasing the many 1000s that have been arrested and withdraw cases @ Mehbooba Mufti ? That doesn’t require Delhi to act.”
