The Union Home Ministry has enlisted achievements in one year of Jammu and Kashmir becoming a Union Territory.

In different tweets the Home Ministry has underlined following major achievements :

  1. Major flood protections projects fast tracked and executed. Phase I of Jhelum Flood Mitigation Project completed, carrying capacity of Jhelum increased by 10000 cusecs. Phase-II to begin shortly, additional 15000 cusecs carrying capacity to be increased. #OneYearOfDevelopment

2.Major decisions have been taken to give a boost to the Saffron farming and its industry.

  1. Kashmir Saffron awarded Geographic Indication (GI) tag.
  2. Construction of International Kashmir Saffron Trade Centre (IIKSTC) at Pampore.
  3. Ayushman Bharat has been extended to provide Universal Health Coverage free of cost to all residents of J&K. Earlier 30 lakh residents were covered under Ayushman Bharat, now 1 crore more people will be benefited from this. #OneYearOfDevelopment
  4. Toll tax abolished at Lakhanpur in J&K. A big step towards the full integration of J&K with the country. This will provide a huge benefit to the local consumers and industries; prices of goods to fall by 5-25%.
  5. J&K is among the leading State/UTs under AYUSHMAN BHARAT YOJANA, 11.45 Lakh gold cards have been generated; 230 hospitals empanelled, 32.80 Cr reimbursed so far, 95% claims paid on time; 82,000 hospitalisations catered so far.

 6J&K is a reservoir of hydro power and is moving towards energy surplus, a number of Hydro projects have been revived and expedited, full potential of Chenab is being tapped. Contracts of 1000 MW Pakaldul Project & 624 MW Kiru Project awarded, work underway. #OneYearOfDevelopment

  1. Largest ever recruitment drive, 10,000 posts to be filled; Special recruitment rules enacted, Special weightage for single women & other categories, Interview process abolished to bring transparency; 25,000 more jobs in the pipeline for J&K.

8.J&K Govt is delicately working for the socio-economic upliftment of marginalized sections of the society; Commission constituted under HC Judge for recasting OBC & other reservations, Income ceiling of Backward Classes increased from Rs 4.5 to 8 lakh. 

  1. COVID-19 finance assistance provided to 6,654 construction workers; Assistance of Rs 25 lakh to registered labourers and more than 10,000 Jan Dhan accounts benefitted through DBT. This has provided support to the economically weaker sections.
  2. e-Office project initiated, e-SEVA portal launched for data exchange between departments; Paper stamp system replaced by e-Stamp & e-Court fees; VAHAN & SARATHI online apps launched under e-Transport; Ladakh Connect & Ladakh COVID-19 info web app launched.
