Kashmir Pahalgam Attack: Following the Pahalgam terror attack in Jammu and Kashmir, EAM S Jaishankar spoke with all Council members, with the exception of China and Pakistan.

J&K Pahalgam Attack: The UN Security Council will be holding a closed-door meeting with its members on the escalation of tensions between India and Pakistan in the wake of the Pahalgam terrorist attack that killed 26 people. Pakistan had sought an emergency meeting on the issue. Since the attack in Jammu and Kashmir, India has taken a slew of measures against Pakistan, including the suspension of the Indus Waters Treaty, downgrading of diplomatic ties, among others.

LoC ceasefire violations: Pakistani troops resorted to unprovoked firing in eight forward sectors along the Line of Control in Jammu and Kashmir, violating ceasefire agreements and prompting retaliation from Indian troops, officials said on Monday, PTI news agency reported.  This marks the 11th consecutive night of Pakistan’s unprovoked firing along the LoC, amidst heightened tensions between New Delhi and Islamabad following the killing of 26 people in the April 22 terror attack in Pahalgam.

IAF, Navy chiefs brief PM as forces prepare response to terror attack: Indian Air Force chief Air Chief Marshal A P Singh met Prime Minister Narendra Modi Sunday and is learnt to have briefed him on the overall preparedness of the IAF in the context of retaliatory options being weighed by the government following the Pahalgam terror attack. While there was no official statement on the meeting, Air Chief Marshal Singh and the Prime Minister were said to have discussed the security scenario and the options on the table.
