Jammu, April 22:

National Security Committee of Pakistan has ruled out that there was any   US-inspired conspiracy in the ouster of Imran Khan from Prime Minister’s position, exposing the theories propounded by the former Prime Minister  as big deceptions .

As per a statement issued by the NSC that deals with the internal and external security related issues in Islamabad, which is chaired by Prime Minister and has among others the top brass of the army and  heads of other forces  as its members , said that there was no conspiracy by the US in ouster of Imran Khan.

The statement was issued after the NSC held a meeting on Friday . It was chaired by Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif , and the meeting was briefed by former Pakistan ambassador to the US  Asad Majeed about the contents of the letter he had sent to the government before his transfer to Brussels . The ambassador said that he was told  by the US  Assistant Secretary of State for Central and South Asian affairs Donald Lu  as he had stated in the cable that Lu warned  that Imran’s continuation as the prime minister would have repercussions for bilateral relations.

The NSC in its statement also stated  that it “ examined the contents of the communication shared by the ambassador and reaffirmed the decisions of the last NSC meeting ,” which was held  in March .

The NSC discussed the telegram received from the Pakistan embassy in Washington . Pakistan’s former ambassador to the US briefed the committee on the context and content of his telegram .

“The NSC was again informed by the premier security agencies that they have found no evidence of any conspiracy,” the statement said, adding that the meeting concluded that “there has been no foreign conspiracy”.

This has exposed Imran Khan’s ploy of using the diplomatic cable as part of his political campaign against the other parties that had sponsored a non-confidence motion against him in the National Assembly .  Before and after his removal he has been using the conspiracy theory to mobilise people against the new government in an environment in which  he is seeking to polarize between US versus they – portraying himself as a pure patriotic Pakistani , while labelling his opponents  as “ traitors”.

He has now called for, what he calls fresh freedom struggle across Pakistan.
