Jammu, February 05:

Pakistan premier Imran Khan has offered talks to India provided Delhi rolls back the changes it effected in the constitutional status of Jammu and Kashmir on August 5, 2019.

This offer of talks is the first since early 2019, when Pulwama terror attack on February 14, had brought the two countries to brink of a full fledged war.

Imran Khan made this offer while addressing a rally in connection with the so-called observance of “Kashmir Solidarity Day” in Kotli in Pakistan occupied Kashmir on Friday.

This is for the first time since the repeal of the special status of Jammu and Kashmir that Pakistani leadership has talked in terms of holding talks with India. Again its significance can be gauged from the fact that the offer of talks has come after the change in the US administration.

Diplomatically, Pakistan wants to convey to the new US administration that it has not abandoned the path and the role of talks in improving its ties with India.

But the Indian stand is very clear that there can be no talks unless Pakistan stops exporting terrorism into Jammu and Kashmir.
