JK News Today
Srinagar, September 18: Prime Minister Narendra Modi called on all voters, particularly young, to vote in large numbers in the constituencies going to polls in the first phase on Wednesday.
In a post on X , Prime Minister made this appeal to the voters in J&K, urging them to participate in this festival of democracy.
It may be recalled that Prime Minister had announced in Srinagar on June 20 that Assembly polls will be held in J&K soon. He had also promised restoration of full- fledged statehood to J&K.
Today 24 constituencies of South Kashmir and Chenab Valley are going to polls in which 23.37 lakh voters will decide fate of 219 candidates in fray.
As the first phase of the Jammu and Kashmir Assembly elections begins, I urge all those in constituencies going to the polls today to vote in large numbers and strengthen the festival of democracy. I particularly call upon young and first-time voters to exercise their franchise.
