Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday saluted Kashmiri students for their commitment to bright future through education , demonstrated by over 95 per cent participation in the ongoing board examinations.
In his broadcast of 26th edition of “ Mann ki baat,” the Prime Minister applauded the students, their parents and friends against the backdrop of their appearing in examinations at a time when the schools were being torched .
It is for the first time that Modi has referred to Kashmir in the aftermath of the unrest and the challenges before the students .
He acknowledged that the burning of schools pained the people in Kashmir, particularly the panchayat representatives who called on him recently. “ It was inflicting axe on the future of the students.”
“Now I am happy that the students are back in their schools,” he said.
