Jammu, June 03: Prime Minister Narendra Modi is likely to visit the site of the Bahanaga train accident in Balasore. He is also likely to visit the hospital in Cuttack and meet the injured undergoing treatment , sources told JK News Today.

The death toll in the Bahanaga train mishap has increased to 238 while more than 900 injured persons are currently undergoing treatment at various hospitals in Mayurbhanj, Balasore, Bhadrak, Bhubaneswar and Cuttack. It is expected that the death toll is likely to further increase.

The tragic incident took place on Friday when Coromandel Express which was heading to Chennai derailed near Bahanaga and collided with Howrah-bound Bengaluru-Howrah Superfast Express which also derailed five minutes back. The derailed coaches of the Coromandel then hit a goods train which was stationed there. As many as 17 coaches of these two trains have been de-railed and severely damaged.
