Jammu, September 19: Power Grid Corporation of India Limted, today organized plantation drives and blood donation camps throughout the country.
Blood donation camps were organized at twenty nine locations across the country wherein more than 619 units of blood was donated . Further more than 15,600 tree saplings were also planted in 175 locations in plantation drive. POWERGRID Northern Region –II, covering states of Jammu and Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh, Punjab, Haryana and UT Chandigarh also organized these events in a befitting manner .
In one such function at its Regional headquarters in Jammu ,the plantation drive was carried out in POWERGRID office and township. The blood donation camp was organised at Government Medical college, Jammu in association with Department of Transfusion medicine, Government Medical College Jammu.
The plantation drive was led by the Executive Director NRTS-II, Anil Jain. Anju Jain President Shrishti Mahila Samiti senior officers , employees and their family members attended the function. More than 100 plants of various species were planted on this occasion.
The blood donation camp was also led by Anil Jain. He alongwith Anju Jain were the first to donate the blood. Employees with their spouses participated in the camp and donated blood. Dr. Vijay Sawahney , HOD Post graduate department of Transfusion Medicine along with his team of doctors which included Dr. Kajal, Dr. Lubna and others welcomed Anil Jain, Anju Jain and all the members of POWERGRID family to their department. Dr. Vijay Sawhney thanked Anil Jain and his team for arranging the camp and appreciated POWERGRID for their noble gesture. Anil Jain also thanked entire team of Medical college Jammu for facilitating the blood donation camp.
