Baramulla, March 25: The government of India is focusing on providing better facilities to people of Kashmir and focus will be to create facilities for apple, cement and gypsum exporters

This was said by the union minister for railways Ashwani Vaishnaw during his visit to Baramulla railways station today.

He inspected the last railway station of the country in north and said that there is a need of improvement and Prime Minister Narendra Modi led government will leave no stone unturned to equip railways in Jammu and Kashmir.

“Prime Minister Narendra Modi has transformed the rail network across India, and in Kashmir also railways will be equipped with modern facilities. There will be a double line, a parcel service, new telephone connections and a heating system will be installed in trains for the winters in Kashmir,” he told reporters.

He said after the Jammu-Srinagar rail link will be thrown open, the ‘Wande Bharat’ express will also chug in Kashmir Valley.

The Minister was accompanied by DC Baramulla Syed Sehrish Asghar and other officers.

From here the minister will be leaving for Reasi on Sunday and inspect the site of the highest Railway bridge and ongoing work on the Reasi-Banihal section of the Udhampur-Baramulla rail project.

The GoI has set December 2023 deadline for linking Kashmir with Kanyakumari by rail.
