Today Rashtriya Ekta Diwas was celebrated with great fervour and enthusiasm at SKPA Udhampur.  On this occasion, Dr. S. D. Singh Jamwal, IPS, IGP Security J&K / Director SKPA Udhampur took salute on the Ekta Diwas Parade and addressed the trainees, officers and staff of the Academy.   While speaking on the occasion, he said, the Rashtriya Ekta Diwas is celebrated every year to mark the birth anniversary of Sardar Vallabhai Patel on 31st of October.  He further said that these moments provide an opportunity to all of us to re-affirm the inherent strength and resilience of our nation to withstand the actual and potential threats to the unity, integrity and security of our country. 

The Director in his address, remembered the role of Sardar Vallabhai Patel in successfully integrating approximately 562 self-governing princely states into the new independent India. It was due to the efforts and commitment of Sardar Patel that national integration in the new independent country was uncompromising, earning him the sobriquet “Iron Man of India”.  The Director stressed upon the participants of Rashtriya Ekta Diwas Parade that we have to re-dedicate ourselves to the service of nation to maintain the national integrity.  Lastly, Dr. S. D. Singh, read the pledge which was jointly recited by all trainees, officers and staff.
