Prominent separatist leader Democratic Freedom Party chairman, Shabir Ahmad Shah was set free on Wednesday after nearly six-month-long incarceration following the killing of Hizb-ul-Mujadeen Commander Burhan Wani in July.
A spokesman of the party told media that after being released from Raj Bagh police station , Shabir Shah has been kept under house arrest .
There was a persistent demand of the separatist camp for his release.
Sources said that Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti had cleared the file for his release on Tuesday evening , ruling out all objections to setting him free at this juncture.
