Announce joint candidates for ULB polls, preparations in full swing

JAMMU: Shiv Sena (UBT) and the Sainik Samaj Party today intensified their campaign “Mera Jammu Kashmir, Mera Adhikar’ by organizing a “Jan Chaupal” in Ward No. 66, Lower Roop Nagar, Jammu today, to know about public aspirations and pledge to fulfill them.
On the occasion, both the parties jointly announced their candidate for the upcoming ULB polls in Jammu and Kahsmir.

The “Jan Chaupal,” held at the Shiv Temple in Ward No. 66, witnessed enthusiastic participation of local residents who registered their presence and apprised the attending leaders of their aspirations and concerns. A significant number of individuals expressed intense anger towards the impending property tax, which is set to be implemented from July 1.
Ashok Chib, a local resident, stated that amidst inflation, unemployment, and economic downturn, the government is burdening the public with taxes, contrary to their expectations of relief from the Jammu and Kashmir administration.
Similarly, Shashi Bala voiced concerns over the escalating electricity cuts and exorbitant bills.
The installation of water meters has also been completed , causing distress among the public. She lamented that providing for their families and serving a decent meal has become increasingly challenging. The government seems determined to exploit and impoverish the public.
Bitooji Bhatt also expressed worries about the escalating power and water cuts.
On the occasion, Manish Sahni, President Shiv Sena J&K and Colonel SS Pathania, President Sainik Samaj Party, highlighted the public’s intense anger towards the callousness of administrative officials and the anti-people decisions and policies of the government.
In response to the public opinion, both party leaders declared Balwant Singh as their joint candidate for Ward No. 66 in the upcoming ULB polls.
Sahni emphasized that the purpose of the Jan Chaupal is to engage with the public, understand their concerns and aspirations, and select candidates for the forthcoming elections based on the public’s opinions. He further stated that instructions have been issued to all leaders and activists to remain vigilant and committed to assisting the public in response to their needs.
