Renowned glamorous gorgeous models of the country are in the city of temples, to walk the ramp and display the garments designed by the budding designers of National Institute of fashion design (NIFD).
Introducing the models to the media at the Press meet and photo session here today, show director, Mr Pallab Bose said that these leading models accompanied here are all and sundry from Mumbai and Delhi.
He added that these will display the dresses designed by the students of NIFD. The models which were introduced by Pallab Bose introduced Rashi Yadav, Hina Khan, Pooja Bhasin ,Priyanka Khatri , Rakhi , Monika Swami , Aditi Sharma , Divya Mamgain.
Chairperson NIFD , Mrs VANITA THAKUR who is instrumental in holding the mega event introduced the theme of the show as “Cherry Blossoms ..Spring is here again”.
“As the Japanese cherry blossom trees in Spring are full of flowers and brings smiles on the face of everyone , similarly all the garments have been really made by lots of hard work and burning of midnight oil by students as their term end project work”, NIFD Chairperson maintained.
She added that that there are 9 rounds in all out of which 7 rounds are of the present students. Two rounds of the ex-students of the institute Mrs Sunita Anand under the brand of “Kbg Kashmiri kreations” and Mrs Nidhi Gupta running her brand “Home Saaz” and both have carved a niche for themselves in the city and one round of Ragvarah an all men’s Studio soon to be launched in the City.
All the models are of high repute and are supermodels who have worked for nearly all the prestigious fashion weeks and designers . The show stopper of the gala event is Rashi Yadav, Miss India Earth 2016.
There is a lot of potential in the modelling in J&K state but unfortunately the promising models did not get appropriate platform to showcase their hidden skills.
Thus, Vanita Thakur thought of giving the local talent a chance and Mr Pallab Bose who was here a month back for an event of NIFD took the auditions and short listed 5 male models to walk the ramp with the gorgeous beauties.
They are Dushyant Gupta, Manav Baldotra from Jammu, Neeraj Mahajan, a leading established supermodel from Naushera and Arfan Mirza who has also walked the ramp before from Rajouri. Mr Bose also promised to give them a chance and the future projects with him.
Mrs Vanita Thakur also introduced the sponsors of the show Talla Jewellers, Shalz Medi Spa , KC emporia, Oakland bottling , Ryan Photography, Saalvi by kaarigar , Raghvarah , Shikargah , Designnama , KBG kashmiri kreations , Home Saaz, Haute Coutre.
NIFD Chairperson further said all are super excited to be in Jammu which is also known as the city of temples and it is their maiden visit as well. “I am looking forward for tomorrow’s big event with tremendous anxiety”, she said.
