JAMMU, January 13: The State Vigilance Organisation (SVO) has registered a case against five officials of a revenue department, including a Tehsildar, for illegally preparing mutation of land in favour of an individual at Channi Rama area in Jammu.

The SVO has registered cases against Shabir Ahmed, Fida Hussain, Sarwar Lone, Ravinder Kumar (Tehsildar) and one Deepak Singh for illegally issuing the mutation of land, an SVO spokesman said.

He said that the verification conducted by vigilance organisation into the compliant of Sarabjit Singh has disclosed that the concerned revenue officials in connivance with the beneficiary by abusing their official position fraudulently prepared and issued illegal papers of land.

The land was already sold to different persons prior to the issuance of illegal papers in favour of the beneficiary, he said.

He said that a case has been registered and investigation has been taken up by the SVO.

Vigilance Organization registered a case FIR No. 01/2017 against Shabir Ahmed, then Patwari Halqa Channi Rama, Sh. Fida Hussain then Girdawar, Sh. Sarwar lone then Naib Tehsildar, Sh. Ravinder Kumar then Tehsildar & one Deepak Singh for illegal preparation/issuance and mutation of fard of 9-1/2 marlas of land situated at Khasra No. 234 at Channi Rama Jammu.

Verification conducted by Vigilance Organization into the compliant of Sarabjit Singh S/O S. Rangil Singh R/o 149/1 Nanak Nagar Jammu has revealed that the concerned revenue officer/officials in connivance with the beneficiary namely Sh. Deepak Singh S/O Sh. Devinder Singh, by abusing their official position fraudulently prepared/issued illegal fard of 9 1/2 Kanals of land falling under Khasra No. 234 situated at Channi Rama , Tehsil & District Jammu in excess of the land that existed in the revenue records as well as on ground in the said Khasra. The whole of the land falling under Khasra No. 234 had already been sold to different persons prior to the issuance of above said illegal fard 0f 9-1/2 marlas land in favour of the beneficiary. No land was available on spot at the time of issuance of said illegal fard to the beneficiary Deepak Singh who further gifted the said land to his brother namely Surinder Singh. The Patwari Halqa Channi Rama namely Shabir Ahmed prepared the said illegal fard whereas Girdawar Sh. Fida Hussain checked/verified and Naib Tehsildar Sh. Sarwar lone attested the said fard respectively . Tehsildar Sh. Ravinder Kumar had counter signed the fard on the basis of which mutation No. 4603 was attested in favour of Sh. Surinder Singh illegally as no land was available on spot.

The above case under sections 5(1) (d) r/w 5 (2) J&K P.C Act 2006 and sections 120-B 467,468 & 471-RPC was registered and investigation is going on
