Jammu, November 13, 2022 : Three faculty members of Central University of Jammu have been featured in Stanford University’s recently released list of the top two percent scientists in the world in the month of October 2022. All these faculty members have secured their positions in the prestigious list on the basis of their research publications and citation score. The list containing data of the top 2% of researchers worldwide is released by Stanford University and prestigious Elsevier Publisher. The selection was based on the top 100,000 scientists by C-score or a percentile rank of 2% or above in the sub-field.
The Vice Chancellor Prof Sanjeev Jain congratulated Prof. Pathania, Dr. Richa and Dr. Pawan for bringing laurels to the University with their outstanding research work. He said that this achievement reflects the high-quality research work and competency as par with the global scientific community being done in the University. He said that, this achievement of our faculty members will further motivates the students and research scholars to conduct high quality research.
The faculty members from Central University who have made it to the list this year include Prof. Deepak Pathania, Dr. Richa Kothari, and Dr. Pawan Kumar. All of these have made it to the list for the third time. Prof. Deepak Pathania and Dr. Richa Kothari both are from the Department of Environmental Sciences and Dr. Pawan Kumar is from the Department of Nanosciences and Materials.
Prof. Deepak Pathania from the Department of Environmental Sciences is working in the field of nanocomposites and nanobiosensors. His work is focused on the development of Polymer-based nanocomposite and their applications, fabrication of novel nanocomposites for remediation of persistent pollutants etc. He has more than 180 international publications and most of his work is published in Scopus database journals. At present, Prof. Pathania has a cumulative impact factor is more than 600, 7160 Google Scholar citations, h-index 50 and i10-index 105. He has guided 17 PhD thesis and 14 M.Phil dissertations and 45 MSc projects for their respective degrees. He is recipient of different distinguished awards and chairman and member of many national and international academics bodies.
Dr. Richa Kothari, Associate Professor from the Department of Environmental Sciences is working in the field of bio-energy production approaches (Biofuel & Biohydrogen), Solar Energy based wastewater treatment technologies, and Low-cost wastewater treatment technologies. She has also published more than 100 research articles in journals having a good impact factor. She has more than 4700 Google Scholar citations, h-index 51 and i10-index 51. She has also been a member of the editorial boards of numerous prestigious journals. She is a recipient of the prestigious WARI Fellowship Program, USA and Government funded research projects.
Dr. Pawan is working on Sensors, Analytical and Materials Chemistry, Ecology and Environment and Waster management. Currently, He has published 76 SCI paper with high impact factors in standard and we’ll know Journals with 37 H index and 6456 total citation..
