Srinagar, May 8: Due to fresh snowfall on Zojila Pass, a snow avalanche hit two vehicles which rolled down from a cliff on Sonamarg-Kargil highway.
The incident occurred near Panimatha Captain Mode at Zojil Pass.
Police said that after the incident traffic movement on Sonamarg-Kargil highway was suspended and all the vehicles were told to move to safer places.
Police infomed that they rescued the passengers but vehicles couldn’t be retrieved due to snowfall and low visibility.
The ill-fated vehicles were on their way to Kargil from Srinagar.
