Washington, May 09: The US Secretary of State Marco Rubio has asked Pakistan to take concrete steps to end support to terrorist groups.
In his call to Pakistan Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, Secretary Rubio reiterated his calls for Pakistan to “end any support for terrorist groups.”
Pakistan has been epicentre of terrorism and in its cross-border terrorism has hit India very badly. The latest in the series of terror attacks , the roots of which lay in Pakistan was terror attack of April 22, in Pahalgam, in which 26 , mostly tourists were killed.
The Secretary emphasized the need for immediate de-escalation. He expressed U.S. support for direct dialogue between India and Pakistan and encouraged continued efforts to improve communications.
The Secretary expressed sorrow for the reported loss of civilian lives in the current conflict. He reiterated his calls for Pakistan to take concrete steps to end any support for terrorist groups.
