Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti has ruled out  recommending CBI inquiry into the rape and murder of eight year old Asifa  in a village in Hiranagar  as she has been told and convinced that there was substantial  evidence  against the men and juvenile arrested in the case.

“ How could there be a CBI inquiry when it is established through statements, circumstantial evidence and  other details collected by the police from the scene of crime,”  a source in the Government told J K News Today.

Mehbooba Mufti who had fought for the fair investigation into the death of two Shopian girls  Nelofar  Jan and Aasiya Jan , sources said is not going to relent, despite the apparent pressure by the  BJP , her ally in the Government.

Two ministers Chander Prakash Ganga  and  Lal Singh had visited the agitators in Hiranagar yesterday and promised that they would speak to CM and get the CBI inquiry instituted.

The agitators under the banner of Hindu Ekta Manch  are demanding the CBI inquiry because they feel that the investigations leading the arrest of two SPOs Deepak Khajuria and Surinder Kumar and juvenile . They believe that this heinous crime was committed by those who claim to be the community of victims. They are blaming police for deliberately ignoring this angle.

The police, however, have claimed that their investigations were free of any prejudices and pressure.
