Jammu, April 28: China on Sunday called for “ prompt and impartial investigation “ into Pahalgam terror attack, one of the worst in the 36-year-old terrorism-filled history of Jammu and Kashmir . Twenty six tourists were showered with bullets after distinguishing them on the religious lines.
Beijing made this statement , according to Global Times, newspaper known as official mouthpiece of Communist Party of China, after Pakistan’s Deputy Prime Minister and foreign minister Ishaq Dar spoke to his Chinese counterpart Wang Yi , on the serious tensions arising in Indo-Pak relations after , after the terror attack. India has traced the attack to Pakistan patronized terror groups in Jammu and Kashmir.

Global Times quoted Wang Yi telling Ishaq Dar : “ China supports the prompt initiation of an impartial investigation, emphasizing that conflict serves neither the fundamental interests of India and Pakistan nor regional peace and stability,” and it further said that Wang noted that “Beijing hopes both sides will exercise restraint, move toward each other, and work to de-escalate tensions.”
