Pakistan Prime Minister Imran Khan’s gave expression to all the half-truths about Jammu and Kashmir in his address to the 75th session of the United Nations General Assembly on Friday furthering his anti-India agenda, an obsession with his country since 1947.
Imran Khan had tried to ignite the flames of unrest during his address at the same platform last year, taking the revocation of special status of Jammu and Kashmir as a reference point to his anti-India tirade . The appeals and his efforts to stoke the unrest and create a law and order situation fell flat .
This year, he tried again the same trick, and the consequences are well known, as the people in the Kashmir Valley have seen and tested Pakistan. They know that the country that has no respect for human rights of the people of Baluchistan, Sindhis and also Pakthuns , where people disappear never to return , is just making false claims of solidarity.
Prime Minister Imran Khan said all the old points that it had been saying all along – UN resolutions on Kashmir should guide the solution to Kashmir crisis , but perhaps has not read the resolutions because those obligate Pakistan to withdraw all its troops , nationals from the Pakistan occupied Kashmir . And, if he had read these resolutions, he would not have referred to them at all . There always is difference between what an interested party believes and what actually the historical reality is.
The UN resolutions do not negate the accession of Jammu and Kashmir to India. The areas and the people under accession include the ones occupied by Pakistan illegally.
It has been a favourite phrase with Pakistan to tell the world that “ Kashmir is a nuclear flash point”. It wants to scare the world and draw the world’s attention toward Kashmir and mobilise it in favour of the Pakistani version of things . That the world has no time to listen to this litany of half-truths as obvious when it remained silent to the repeated pleas of Pakistan to speak on Kashmir . The world simply ignored Imran Khan and the army that selected him to the PM’s post in 2018 polls.
The Indian government has started doing everything that was not done before for the welfare of the people of J&K- the development is palpable and the masses are having their aspirations . They are appearing in competitive examinations and succeeding .
The encouragement for doing better in all the fields where they can taste success in the chosen fields and aspire to be on the frontline has come from Delhi and its man in J&K, Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha . They are working for developing the youths’ skills and leading them to constructive path , and what was Imran Khan doing, instigating them to take up arms .
When he said that “ brave Kashmiris are sacrificing lives,” that is a clear mention of the militants who die at the hands of security forces in encounters . Pakistan is pushing and patronising guns, whereas India is giving keyboard and future of peace to Kashmiri youth.
Pakistan must realise futility of its rhetoric and arms supply to the youth in Kashmir . The end to the fountain heads of the terrorism in Pakistan alone can bring peace to the region.
