Pleased to share that Ladakh has taken a historic step towards becoming a fully organic region by imposing a strict ban on use and sale of chemical/synthetic fertilisers, for agricultural practices.
This decision, inspired by Hon’ble PM Shri Narendra Modi
ji’s vision of promoting organic and traditional farming practices, aims at environmental conservation, improving soil health and sustainable development across the country.
By preserving the natural fertility of our soil and promoting organic farming, we are safeguarding Ladakh’s unique agro-ecological character while enhancing the value of our organic agricultural produce and creating better livelihood opportunities for our farmers.
With 207 revenue villages already under organic certification, Ladakh is well on its way to becoming a model organic region in the country.
Together, let us build a cleaner, greener and more sustainable future for Ladakh.
