On the National Handloom Day, we celebrate the timeless artistry of our weavers and the unmatched elegance of Ladakh Pashmina – a true legacy of our high-altitude heritage. Through GI protection, skill development, design support, market access and institutional policy frameworks, sustained efforts have been made to strengthen the handloom and Pashmina sector in Ladakh and empower our hardworking artisans. I express my deepest gratitude to Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri @narendramodi ji for his visionary guidance and continuous resolve to uplift rural artisans, encourage women-led development, and make India “Aatmanirbhar” through the handloom sector. Let us pledge to support our local weavers and wear our heritage with pride!”
