The Pathways International School, Kathua organized ‘The Pathways Olympics 2K16’-17, the Second Annual Sports Meet of the School for the pre-primary and primary wing of the School, here today. Kavinder Gupta, Speaker, State Legislative Assembly was the Chief Guest on the occasion., Sardar Amarjeet Singh, RTO Kathua, Ajay kumar Deputy Superintendent of Police,Kathua S.C. Bhardwaj, District Youth Services and Sports Officer, ,Trilok Singh Bist Principal, Jodhamal Public School, Jammu and Nirmal Mahna, Principal, DPS, Kathua, were the Guest of Honour during the two events of the Pathways Olympics. Dr. Divij Suri, Chairman, The Pathways International School, Kunal Anand, Principal, The Pathways International School, Kathua, S.P. Suri, Former Head & Dean, Dept. of Education, University of Jammu, Dr. Pallvi Arora, Assistant Professor, ICccR & HRM, University of Jammu,KCS Mehta Principal Army Public School Akhnoor, Vivek Arora Principal Bhargav Public School were also present to grace the occasion.
The function started with the releasing of balloons by Kavinder Gupta and other dignitaries, who declared the “Pathways Olympics 2K16-17” open followed by unfurling of the School Flag by the School Head Boy, Robin Singh and Head Girl Deepakshi Sharma. The students of the School presented a March past where all the four house captains of Pathways Daredevils, Pathways Challengers, Pathways Titans and Pathways Warriors demonstrated their strength and vigor through their march. Pertinent to mention that the Pathways Olympics 2K16-17 was a 10-day long event wherein several pre-events and competitions took place and students from the School participated.
‘The Pathways Olympics 2K16-17’ included Skating Act, Aerobics, Karate Act and dance performances by the students of the primary wing, which were highly appreciated by the audience. The Pathways Olympics was spread across two sub-events, one focusing on the pre-primary wing and the other on the primary wing.
The students of Pre-Primary wing participated in events like Pack your Bags, Ball in Basket, Frog Race, Hula hoops activity, to mention a few while the students of the Primary Wing participated in Long Jump, High Jump, 100 meters and 400 meters relay races. The winners of the events were awarded with the medals by the Chief Guest Kavinder Gupta (Speaker, State Legislative Assembly ). The parents were also made to participate in several events like 100 meters race, Tug of War, etc., later in the Programme, the medals for which were also awarded to the winners by the Chief Guest.
While addressing the gathering, Kavinder Gupta, Speaker State Legislative Assembly, Chief Guest during the occasion said that he was delighted to find a truly International School of such a stature in Kathua which was a long pending demand of the people of Kathua, who otherwise had to send their wards to the nearby towns for better education. He highly appreciated the Management of the School for bringing a new era in the field of education. He congratulated the organizers of ‘The Pathways Olympics 2K16-17’ and was overwhelmed to be part of such a Programme. He congratulated all the winners and participants of the Pathways Olympics.
Sardar Amarjeet Singh, RTO Kathua, said that he was highly impressed with the initiatives taken up by the School in imparting quality education and transforming students towards betterment.
Trilok Singh Bist, Principal, Jodhamal Public School, Jammu in his address, highly appreciated the efforts put in by the organizers for putting up such a spectacular show of sports and cultural acts. They were extremely happy to see and experience a new feel that has been brought to Kathua as a new chapter in education by the opening of this institution in Kathua and congratulated the winners of the various events.
Kunal Anand, Principal, The Pathways International School, Kathua, presented the School Annual Report. He mentioned, in his report, about the various achievements and accomplishments made by the School in the previous year, both in academics as well as extracurricular activities. He said that the School achieved numerous successes and is grateful to the people of Kathua, who showed faith in the Institution. He categorically mentioned in the report that the School is working towards the holistic development of the students and is leaving no stone unturned to make it successful. He added that The Pathways International School, Kathua, is the first School in the State following the ICSE-IB curriculum. In his Annual Report, he also talked about the various new academic initiatives that the School has undertaken for better results. Collaborations with foreign bodies like The British Council for various examinations is under process. He also mentioned in his report that the School has been trying to integrate the best practices to upgrade the teaching learning processes.
Speaking on the occasion, Dr. Divij Suri, Chairman, The Pathways International School, Kathua, reflected that the prime objective of the School is to instill and inculcate in the students, the true meaning of acquiring knowledge and excellence that is par excellence. He added that The Pathways International is an Institution that nurtures intellectual and academic pursuits, provides adequate opportunities for co-curricular and extra-curricular activities and makes for a conducive environment for over-all development of young inquisitive minds when they enter the portals of this vibrant institution. He congratulated all the participants and his Team of Educators for putting up such a grand show. Later in the Programme, Dr. Divij Suri also presented a souvenir to the Chief Guest & Guest of honor, as a mark of respect. Under the ‘Green Pathways’ initiative that works to create a culture of environmental responsibility supported by the School, the Chairman also presented plants to the dignitaries.
The Pathways Olympics 2k16-17 was declared closed. Rishu Sharma, HeadMistress, who also presented the vote of thanks. Monika Verma and Komal & Indumeet were the commentators for this sports event, Shivali Jasrotia & Mrs. Chakarboti Sr. Coordinators, Shama Rani Administrator and all Educators were present to conduct the event successfully.
